Upright pole moves are your jam? Add spin and twist to make them impressive and unique

2. September 2022 by Miglena

Quick! Name 10 upright pole moves off the top of your head.

…

Okay, let’s face it: when it comes to upright shapes, most pole dancers’ minds go blank at first. 😬

“Uhhh… Hood Ornament, Ballerina, Hello Boys… What else is there?”

As soon as we learn to invert, we seem to neglect the world of upright shapes altogether. Fair enough, leg hangs and inverted tricks are the new, shiny things that grab all of our attention.

But the upright pole world is much more varied than it seems, and it has so many beautiful moves to offer.

While upside-down shapes look badass, upright tricks like the no-hands Stargazer or the Vortex can make you look like you’re floating in the air. The Ballerina and the Shishi Spin, on the other hand, can make you spin impressively fast.

Now, here comes the twist:

Some upright moves are much harder than they seem. You need decent back and shoulder flexibility, as well as pain tolerance. You’ll rely on fewer, unusual contact points, which you need to keep strong and precise during your routine.

Hard to imagine? Check out the preview video of my recent class “Upright Twisty Shapes” below. You can send me an email to purchase the lessons.

Here’s what happens when you combine spin and twist:

Loved the class preview? I sure hope so!

This class series is perfect for you if you want to expand your pole repertoire with impressive upright moves and combos and make your pole routines look unique and creative.

We’ll explore Twisted Grip shapes and transitions, and learn how to maintain/shift contact points with precision and smoothness.

Besides that, you should…

  • Be intermediate/advanced level – you know several inverted tricks already (like Butterfly and Jade)
  • Be comfortable in your Ballerina
  • Love spinning and not get dizzy easily

Not sure about your level or have other concerns?
Send me an email and I’ll help you.
If you’re at a lower level, you can purchase just the first 1-2 classes and see how far you get. We’ll progress from easier variations to more difficult ones throughout the lessons.

“Can I work with the videos at my own pace?“
Absolutely. That’s the big advantage of on-demand videos.

You can split one lesson into several training sessions. You can pause, re-watch, jump to certain parts and come back to them at any time. And you have lifetime access.

You’ll get 4 recorded full-length classes –  100 minutes each. Enjoy video and audio in full HD (no bad-quality Zoom recordings).

Send me an email to purchase „Upright Twisty Shapes“.

Let me know in the comments if these upright pole moves are your jam?
