Let’s take a look at the Twisted Grip, the last grip of the series “50 Shades of Grip”. This one is used for moves like the Ballerina, Handspring, Ayesha and the Reverse Grab Spin.
This time around, I want you to only focus on the grip and the upper body.
What do you think is the main issue?
The Twisted Grip can be tricky, especially in moves like Ayesha & Handspring.
If you guessed “Bottom arm should not be straight”, I kind of agree.
I feel that the bent arm gives me much better support.
However, some people prefer the straight-arm version, though. Personally, I can’t relate. But if this works for you, then that’s great! I wouldn’t call it incorrect.
In my opinion, the most important thing in the Twisted Grip is that torso tilt:
