Pole dance hand grips: Twisted Grip (“50 Shades of Grip”)

1. April 2022 by Miglena

Let’s take a look at the Twisted Grip, the last grip of the series “50 Shades of Grip”. This one is used for moves like the Ballerina, Handspring, Ayesha and the Reverse Grab Spin.

This time around, I want you to only focus on the grip and the upper body.

What do you think is the main issue?

Twisted Grip wrong
Twisted Grip right

The Twisted Grip can be tricky, especially in moves like Ayesha & Handspring.

If you guessed “Bottom arm should not be straight”, I kind of agree.

I feel that the bent arm gives me much better support.

However, some people prefer the straight-arm version, though. Personally, I can’t relate. But if this works for you, then that’s great! I wouldn’t call it incorrect.

In my opinion, the most important thing in the Twisted Grip is that torso tilt:

Does this grip come easy to you or is it your nemesis move? Please share your thoughts in the comments below.

Also in the “50 Shades of Grip” series:
True Grip
Strong Hold Grip
Half-Bracket Grip
Split Grip (Full-Bracket Grip)
Forearm Grip
